CTAM at the presentation of the film "Homeland Living in Memories"

On June 16, the presentation ceremony of the film “Homeland Living in Memories” was held under the organization of the Western Azerbaijan Research Center operating under the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. 

Tunzala Asadova, Executive Director of the “Cosmoline” Translation and Research Center, and Hasan Ahmadov, the Center’s chief translator and expert on the Caucasus region, attended the presentation ceremony. 

In the film, produced by Swedish director Mikael Silkeberg, Western Azerbaijan is presented as a place that lives in memories and is preserved with its cultural values. The historical maps, archival materials, and various eyewitness accounts presented in the film once again prove that some geographies live not only within physical borders, but also in people’s cultural consciousness and collective memory. 

Speakers at the event, director Mikael Silkeberg, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the Azerbaijan State University of Political Science and Law, Professor Mahira Huseynova, and deputies of the Milli Majlis Gaya Mammadov and Rizvan Nabiyev, noted that such films will make a special contribution to the transmission of cultural heritage, national traditions, literature and art to the younger generations.
